Privacy.
The short version
BARCROSS is local-first. Signed out, everything you do (skills, sessions, weigh-ins, benchmarks) is stored in your own browser's localStorage and never leaves your device. No account is required to use the full platform.
If you sign in
Signing in (Google or email) stores your email address and your training data (progress, sessions, weigh-ins, benchmarks, settings) in our database, hosted by Neon in the EU (Frankfurt region), so it can sync across devices. We store nothing else from your Google account.
Gate Card certification
If you submit a clip for certification, we store your athlete name, email, gate, and the video URL you provide. Once certified, your name, gate, date and the clip link become a public page at barcross.one/card/your-code. Your email is never public. You can request removal of a card by contacting us.
Google user data
If you choose Sign in with Google, we request only your basic profile through Google's OAuth consent screen: your email address, your name, and your profile picture. Access: we receive these three fields from Google at sign-in and nothing else, no Gmail, no Drive, no contacts, no calendar. Use: they are used solely to create and authenticate your BARCROSS account and to display your name and picture to you inside the app; we make no other use of them. Storage: they are stored in our application database, hosted by Neon in the EU (Frankfurt), for as long as your account exists. Sharing: we never share, sell, transfer or disclose Google user data to any third party, never use it for advertising, and never use it to train AI or machine-learning models. Deletion: deleting your account (or emailing privacy@barcross.one) removes these fields within 30 days; you can also revoke BARCROSS's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. BARCROSS's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Cookies
We use a cookie to remember your language, a session cookie if you sign in, and a session cookie for certified judges. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, no analytics identifiers.
Third parties
Video links you submit or watch point to their host (e.g. YouTube), which applies its own privacy policy when you open them. Certification fees are processed by our payment provider; we never see or store card numbers.
Your rights
Export everything at any time from the You page (one click, one JSON file). Signed-out data is deleted by clearing your browser storage. For account or card deletion, contact privacy@barcross.one and it will be done within 30 days.
Minors
Athletes under 18 need a parent or guardian to submit any certification. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
